Ahmedabad-based Gensol Group is planning to make India a global back-end hub for engineering and remote monitoring of solar power plants.
The company started a pilot project three months ago to monitor solar plants in Japan. The company has sought help from its Spanish joint venture partner Solarig.
Currently, Gensol Group is monitoring about 2,000 MW of solar plants in India.
During FY19 Gensol Group will add another 2,500 MW of solar plants at global level, extending its coverage to 200 solar plants of 25 firms in Japan, Spain, France and Italy, among others.
The company has two verticals in the rooftop portfolio business -- one is maintaining the plant and the other is owning it.
